AJP Action Denounces President Trump’s Capitulation to Netanyahu and Continued Complicity in Gaza Genocide

Dear Supporter,

Americans for Justice in Palestine Action (AJP Action) condemns President Donald Trump for repeating the catastrophic failures of his predecessor, President Joe Biden, by once again allowing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to dictate U.S. foreign policy—at the cost of Palestinian lives and America’s moral standing.

Despite public posturing and rhetoric of “restraint,” the Trump administration has failed to restrain the genocidal Israeli regime. Instead, the President has continued the same destructive patterns that prolonged the genocide in Gaza under Biden: capitulating to Netanyahu, weakening ceasefire proposals, and allowing the Israeli Prime Minister to undermine the authority of the U.S. President openly.

Only recently, during President Trump’s visit to the Gulf states, the administration celebrated the release of American-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander as a diplomatic achievement and a step toward a broader ceasefire. But within hours, Israel shattered that progress by bombing al-Awda Hospital in northern Gaza, killing dozens, including children, and humiliating President Trump on the world stage.

This act of defiance came on the heels of revelations that then–National Security Adviser Michael Waltz had coordinated directly with Netanyahu behind the President’s back—advocating for a military strike on Iran, in direct contradiction to Trump’s diplomatic approach. This betrayal was not an isolated incident—it reflects a deeper reality: Netanyahu continues to manipulate and defy American presidents with impunity.

Now, Trump finds himself caught in the same trap that discredited Biden: proposing ceasefires that Israel ignores, supplying weapons that are used to bomb civilians, and calling for restraint as Israel escalates its assault. Trump once promised he wouldn’t be like Biden. Yet, a week after his “peace tour,” Gaza remains under siege, starving, and in ruins.

Instead of holding Netanyahu accountable, President Trump—like Biden before him—continues to chase a mirage of diplomacy while Palestinians are massacred and U.S. credibility is destroyed.

“President Trump is being played by Netanyahu just as Biden was. The Israeli government has made it clear it will sabotage any American-led peace effort that gets in the way of its genocidal war,” said Dr. Osama Abu Irshaid, Executive Director of AJP Action.

“The bombing of a hospital during Trump’s ceasefire push was not just an atrocity—it was a deliberate insult. It’s time for the President to stop adjusting proposals to satisfy Netanyahu and start doing what’s right for America’s interests and withhold weapons from Israel and stand up to Netanyahu.”

The President’s complicity is now compounded by a disastrous and illegal aid plan that has armed U.S. contractors overseeing food distribution in Gaza. Already, reports have surfaced of security personnel opening fire on starving Palestinians. This is not aid, but instead, it is collective punishment wrapped in a PR campaign. The United Nations must be granted full authority to manage all humanitarian relief, independently and without Israeli interference. Anything less enables Israel to weaponize hunger and displacement.

The American people do not support genocide. We do not support bombing hospitals, starving children, or funding a foreign government that actively commits war crimes and works against U.S. diplomacy. President Trump must decide whether he serves American interests—or Netanyahu’s.

In solidarity,

Dr. Osama Abu Irshaid
