Did you know you could be flying above military equipment bound for Israel?

On September 9, United Airlines reportedly transported five shipments of military cargo on a commercial passenger flight from Newark to Tel Aviv.

According to shipping records reviewed by The Intercept, United transported nearly 3,000 shipments of military materiel to Israel over roughly seven months in 2025 and early 2026. More than 2,000 were destined for Elbit Systems, while others went to Lockheed Martin’s Israeli headquarters, Israel’s Ministry of Defense, and military air bases.

The shipments stopped when United suspended flights to Tel Aviv amid the U.S.-Israel war on Iran. On September 8, United resumed passenger service. The very next day, the military shipments returned.

United has already shown these shipments can stop. We're demanding they stop for good.

A commercial airline trusted to carry millions of passengers should not be using those same aircraft as part of a military supply chain supporting Israel’s military operations.

What can you do?

Contact United Leadership. Tell CEO Scott Kirby, President Brett J. Hart, and United Airlines leadership to stop transporting weapons, military equipment, and other war materiel to Israel and adopt a public policy prohibiting future shipments.
Cancel United. Avoid booking United flights until the company ends the transportation of military materiel to Israel.
Make it public. Post on social media and tell United why you're taking your business elsewhere:

I fly United to get from one place to another, not to help transport military equipment to Israel to commit war crimes and genocide. @United, stop carrying military materiel to Israel on passenger flights. Until you do, I’ll take my business elsewhere. #NoWeaponsOnUnited

Subject: Stop transporting military cargo to Israel

Message:

Dear United Airlines Leadership, I am writing to demand that United Airlines immediately stop transporting weapons, military equipment, components, and other war materiel to Israel. United is a commercial airline trusted by millions of people to transport passengers and their belongings safely. Its civilian aircraft should not double as a military supply line, carrying passengers while transporting military equipment to a government that is actively committing genocide in Gaza and other grave war crimes across the region. United passengers should not have to wonder whether the plane carrying them and their families is also carrying military cargo. Resuming passenger service did not require the company to resume transporting military materiel. That was a business decision, and it is one United can reverse. I am asking United to end these shipments immediately and adopt a public policy prohibiting the transportation of war materiel to Israel going forward. Until United does so, I will reconsider flying with the airline and encourage others to do the same. I do not want my money supporting a company that chooses to make its commercial operations part of a military supply chain. United has a choice about what it carries on its planes. Its customers have a choice about where we spend our money. Stop the shipments. Sincerely,
