No Business As Usual: New Prime Minister, Same Human Rights Violations

On Thursday, August 26 in Washington DC, President Biden is scheduled to meet with the new Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who is arguably even more extreme than his predecessor, Benjamin Netanyahu. While there has been a change in the Israeli government, there’s been no change in Israel’s systematic policies of apartheid, persecution, and settler-colonial violence against the Palestinian people.

Sign our petition to President Biden calling on him to:

Publicly demand Israel halt its ongoing forceful displacement of Indigenous Palestinian families from their homes in the Jerusalem neighborhoods of Silwan and Sheikh Jarrah, and throughout Palestine.

Push Israel to end its illegal siege of the Gaza Strip.

End the ongoing $3.8 billion in annual military funding and weapons flow to Israel. This would mean not approving new weapons deals (including additional funding of the Iron Dome anti-missile system), and investigating and holding Israel accountable for its previous uses of US weapons to injure and kill Palestinians in violation of US and international law.

Demand an end to the confiscation of the occupied Palestinian lands, a complete stop to the construction or expansion of the illegal Israeli settlements and an end to Israel’s arbitrary permit regime which systematically prevents Palestinians from building on their own land and furthers dispossession. As Palestinians are being denied permits to build on their own land, illegal Israeli settlements are consistently being approved and built instead.
